Parents role


V’là l’Bon Vent was created thanks to the sustained efforts of volunteer parents, who noticed a strong need for Francophone preschool services in Vancouver back in 2022. Over the last two decades, our preschool’s success and development have built upon the support and contribution of all parents. We strongly believe that families must participate in a meaningful way to their children’s learning experience, and to the smooth functioning of the preschool. 

To ensure that V’là l’Bon Vent reaches its high potential and that every child can receive a high-quality education, in a pleasant learning environment, we ask each family to commit to:

attending two parent annual meetings (Orientation session and Annual general meetings)
carrying out diligently the duties and responsibilities as required by the position either chosen by or assigned to the family

One parent for each family must join the Board of Directors: they then volunteer to undertake the preschool management. Otherwise, the other parents that are non-board members, are available to accomplish administrative tasks and daily activities within the preschool. 

Some tasks are very specific (classroom and toys cleaning), others are largely self-driven (preschool promotion, fundraising). Some roles/activities apply only to one class while others involve both classes.
